Will my Visits be Covered?
Most extended Health Insurance Plans (Work Benefits) cover Chiropractic, Registered Massage Therapy, and Kinesiology treatments, as well as Custom Orthotics and Custom Orthopaedic bracing. Unfortunately, there is no coverage for any of these services offered under OHIP.

What is Chiropractic treatment?
Chiropractic treatment is a skilled, hands-on form of healthcare that helps relieve pain and contributes to improving your body’s performance. Many Chiropractors utilize both passive and active treatments, as well as education, in order to help treat many different conditions affecting the muscles, joints and nerves. Chiropractors are considered neuromusculoskeletal experts and will be able to determine if your problem will respond to chiropractic care or if you will require a referral to another health care provider.
What kind of training do Chiropractors have?
Following University, a Chiropractor must then complete four-years of training at an accredited Chiropractic Institution and pass comprehensive National and Provincial qualifying examinations in order to become licensed to practice in Canada. Chiropractic is a regulated health profession and the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO) is charged with regulating the profession and protecting the public.

What's the importance of strength and conditioning?
Whether you’re looking to improve your performance in a specific sport or activity, or just want to get fit and healthy, everyone (regardless of age) can benefit from strength and conditioning. Not only does increasing your strength, endurance and flexibility contribute to the overall efficiency of the human body, it is a vital in order to rehabilitate following incurring an injury. By being proactive with respect to strength and conditioning, many injuries can also be prevented.
Why would I need custom orthotics or orthpaedic bracing?
Properly fitted custom ortotics provide support for the foot by redistributing ground reaction forces as well as realigning foot joints while standing, walking or running. Soft tissue inflammatory conditions such as plantar fasciitis can also positively respond to the use of orthotics. Orthotics can also help to prevent foot ulcers in the at-risk diabetic foot.
Functional braces are designed for use by people who have already experienced an injury and need support to recover from it. They are also utilized to help people who are suffering from pain and joint dysfunction associated with arthritis and other degenerative conditions.
We provide clinical assessment, patient management, technical design, and fabrication of custom orthoses to maximize patient well being.
What are the benefits to Acupunture?
Acupuncture improves the body’s functions and promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites,commonly referred to as acupuncture points. It can relive pain caused from new or recent injuries, as well as chronic, long standing problems. Come in and ask us if acupuncture would be a option for you.

Given the amount of exercise we prescribe at Active Choice - Rehabilitation Centre, we have made a series of videos to help teach our patients proper form with stretching, balance, stability, resistance and endurance exercises. All videos are preformed and instructed by Dr. Dana Selby.
